The lego analogy is a great visualization of a problem and this is a really well written text. There is truth to what you are saying. But this is the kind of thinking that made modernist ideas about design so problematic. "Less is more", as an overall approach to design, is problematic in heathcare or anywhere else. There isn't one way to deal with design, its contextual. Sometimes "less is more" other times "more is more".
